Made a Sale at the Embroiderers Guild Exhibition

Yesterday I was on duty at the Embroiderers Guild Vic Spring Fever Exhibition - they had asked me to give a beading demonstration. As I was checking out the exhibition, I discovered one of my pieces was SOLD! A lovely red sticker was on the label. An interesting dilemma - whilst I like selling things, I didn't really want to sell this one so I put what I thought was a fairly high price on it. But it sold anyway. Guess any sale is a good sale though. My stock of beaded necklaces and stuff is overflowing.

Whilst I was demonstrating, who should come past but Marg Mueller our Bead Society Workshop Co-ordinator, with Cynthia Rutledge from the USA. I was not expecting Cynthia, who is here to tutor some workshops for the Bead Society to be inspecting the work I had on the demonstration table. It's all pretty ordinary compared to her fabulous creations. She was very nice and we had an interesting chat about bead addiction.

I know what you mean about putting a high price on something because you don't want to sell it or so you won't have to do it. One of my aunts made cakes. A company always got a huge sheet cake. She didn't want to do it that year so she put what she considered a huge price on it. To her horror, the company said ok with no haggling. We don't always get what we want.

I'm envious that you get to take a class with Cynthia Rutledge - I love her work.

Your necklace is beautiful. I love the colors.

I do embroidery also- in fact I'm a member of 2 guilds. Right now I'm spending most of my free time test stitching a pattern before it gets published.
